EPDM Sports Flooring in Bangladesh

Phase 1: Substrate & Surface Preparation

The foundation determines the lifespan of the floor. In Bangladesh’s humid environment, this step is critical.

• Mechanical Grinding: We use industrial floor grinders to remove “laitance” (weak top layers of concrete) and open the pores for better bonding.

• Moisture Testing: We ensure the concrete slab has a moisture content below 15%. If higher, we apply a specialized moisture barrier.

• Cleaning: The surface is vacuumed to be 100% dust-free. Any oil or grease stains are chemically treated.

• Leveling: We fill all cracks and honeycombs using High-Strength Epoxy Mortar to ensure a perfectly flat finish.

Phase 2: High-Adhesion Primer Application

• Material: Specialized Polyurethane (PU) Resin Primer.

• Execution: Applied at a rate of approximately 0.2kg/m².

• Function: This creates a permanent chemical bond between the concrete and the rubber layers, preventing future peeling or bubbling.

Phase 3: SBR Shock-Pad Layer (The Safety Cushion)

This “Base Layer” provides the impact absorption that protects athletes’ joints.

• Composition: Black SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) granules (1-4mm) mixed with a MDI-based Polyurethane Binder.

• Mixing Ratio: Precise ratio (typically 1:0.18) using a forced-action mixer to ensure every granule is coated.

• Paving: The mixture is spread and leveled using a Heated Power Paver or manual screed to a thickness of 8mm to 25mm (depending on project specs).

• Curing: Required 12–24 hours of undisturbed drying time.

Phase 4: EPDM Wear Layer (The Aesthetic Top)

This is the colorful, UV-stable surface that defines the court.

• Material: Virgin EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) granules.

• UV Protection: For outdoor projects in Bangladesh, we use Aliphatic Binders to prevent the sun from yellowing or hardening the floor.

• Application: A mix of EPDM granules (1-3mm) and PU binder is applied over the SBR base at a thickness of 5mm to 15mm.

• Finishing: Hand-troweled by FLOORX experts to ensure a seamless, non-slip, and vibrant finish.

Phase 5: Precision Line Marking

• Standardization: We map out the court according to FIBA (Basketball), BWF (Badminton), or ITF (Tennis) international dimensions.

• Paint Quality: We use specialized Two-Component (2K) PU Line Marking Paint. It is highly elastic, so it moves with the rubber and never cracks.

• Visual Accuracy: Laser-guided layout ensures sharp, crisp lines that look professional and last for years.
